My true color test came out to be blue! I seem excited because I was afraid that the career I already had in mind to chose will not match my characteristics, so that already got me excited and euphoric. The characteristics that really stood out to me was being warm, good communicative skills with others, and always thriving to inspire or corroborate other students and co- workers. That sums up who I am as a person. The top five occupations I chose were cardiologists, physician, financial planner, health therapists and medical assistants. Of those unique careers I decided to go with a physician. A physician job is to maintain or improve their patients health, basically the life of a patient can be in my hands. To be a physician one must have gone to medical school and gotten a M.D (medical doctor) and D.O (Doctor of osteopathy). Both M.D’s and D.O’s may be General Practitioners, who deal with a wide range of medical problems, or specialists, who have taken additional training in a medical or surgical specialty, which is super cool because there is just a wide range of specialty one can decide to focus on. These are neurologists, urologists, pathologists, pediatricians and many more. I decided to go with neurosurgeon; they deal with mainly the brain. Since I was a little child I always had a propensity towards the brain. I know it sounds like a yucky thing to be fascinated at a young age, but I was especially cow brains then. But, I knew it was my calling when I lost my grandfather from Alzheimer's disease, it was just sad seeing someone that loved me so much not even remember who I was, which inspired me more to get into the field. A few programs offer combined undergraduate/ medicine studies, granting both degrees over a six to eight year period. Graduation from medical school usually takes 4 years. After medical school, most physicians complete a residency of 1-7 years, depending on area of specialization. With all these I guess for the next eight years of my life I will be drowning in lots of books.
The name of the counselor I spoke to was Mr. ken Gaines, whom to me as of right now is one of the most helpful counselor I have ever spoken to. All these things I have mentioned about my career Is not easy to achieve, but he gave me that little reassurance that I needed to hear to motivate me and tell me it is actually possible and not just a childhood dream. He told me am on the right path to my career because right now am majoring in Neuroscience which consist of the exact subjects I will need to take to go to medical school these are; biology, chemistry and so on.

Finding a neurosurgeon to interview was a huge task but I was able to interview an anesthesiologist surgeon whose is Doctor Osibamiro. He works at Martin Luther king Hospital and he also owns a clinic in Carson called Sanfe Medical Clinic. Their job is simply but complicated at the same time because they put the patient to sleep before a physician perform a surgery on them. His job is simple but needs a huge amount of carefulness and attention. Like paying attention to the patient’s reaction to the drug given to him or her. He did not tell me anything totally different from what I found online. But one thing he left me with was that pursuing the career I want is not going to be easy but I have to be determined because it is very competitive to even get into medical school but I can do it.
